Wow, Israel is an amazing place indeed… Tel Aviv is now in my top 5 cities of all time!! Such a great atmosphere, people are so friendly and of course they know how to PARTY…ha. Found a bar opposite the hostel and bartender filled me in on where to go. Ended up going to a really cool club 2 nights in a row, forgot I had the camera in my pocket first night, so went back with Tristan for the 2nd night and had a blast!! Even played one of my favourite disco tune in other room – “The Chaplin Band”, awesome!!
Went to Jerusalem on Sunday and had an amazing time. Had a home cooked meal for the first time away and it was devine, thanks D, D and J!! After sleeping in a scungy hostel we went on a free tour of the old city. Truly spectacular!! Being a Catholic, it was a really a great moment in my life to see all the stages of the city from 3000BC. A lovely guy named Duby, whom we met at the Tiberias marathon, met with us and gave us an in depth tour through the old city, thank you Duby your a legend!! Got a bus to Bethlehem, went through the check point which was crazy as, taxi to the church where Jesus was born and it was absolutely worth every bit of it, truly amazing experience all round. The church had so much detail it was incredible, was quite deep in the ground too.
On the way out the taxi driver showed us some of Banksy’s artwork, which was awesome. I think the taxi driver was more impressed with it than us,ha.
Tel Aviv has been fantastic and thanks to all the awesome people we have met here, will keep in touch via facebook.
Off to Dubai now for a couple of nights then to Mumbai for race No3 on Sunday. Bring it on, but not the diarrhea.
I have also listed my 52 challenges here on the site under ‘About’ and I will tick them off as I go. Thanks Mr Jones, I think you will like the first 2.
